New Caledonia Officially Opens To Cruises on 5 October

New Caledonia is officially reopening on 5 October, allowing cruise ships to pass through its territorial waters. On 4 October 2022, the Pacific Explorer, operated by P&O Cruises, will be the first vessel to make an overnight stop at Noumea, followed by Lifou on 6 October 2022.
In October 2022, passengers on a nine-night cruise from Sydney to Noumea will be the first cruisers to visit New Caledonia since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic.
On 1 August 2022, New Caledonia removed its COVID-19 entrance requirements for international travellers coming by air and international boats, except cruise ships.
The resumption of cruise ship visits to New Caledonia has made the island country accessible to tourists from all over the world.
The South Pacific nation is thrilled to welcome cruise passengers back for the first time since the country’s borders closed in March 2020. Cruise passengers entering New Caledonia do not need a visa.
Vanuatu, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Fiji, Cook Islands, Tahiti, French Polynesia, Samoa, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea have all reopened to international visitors and cruise tourism.
