Vietnam Tourism has announced the launch of a new competition for locals to show off the best parts of their home cities to international visitors, dubbed #MyVietnam.
The challenge kicked off on 7 December with three videos to help inspire participants — My Hoi An, My Hue and My Ho Chi Minh City– to create short films bursting with local flavour and imagination. The winning entries will receive prizes like a 10-day trip through Vietnam from Victoria Voyages and a three-day luxury cruise in Halong Bay from Paradise Cruises.
“#MyVietnam is a personal view into Vietnam,” said Phung Dieu Anh, Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board’s (TAB) marketing manager. “We’re inviting everyone to join in and show the world the best of their cities, and what they love most about Vietnam.”
The contest is currently accepting original video entries in two categories: 15 and 60 seconds.
Prizes
The winner of the 60-second category will receive an ‘Elite Vietnam’ 10-day package for two from Victoria Voyages.
Elite Vietnam starts in Hanoi and takes in highlights from Halong Bay, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta through a selection of private tours, boutique cruises, luxury hotel stays, culinary experiences and cultural excursions. A prize value of VND 100 million (USD 4,277).
Whereas the winner of the 15-second category will receive a two-night luxury cruise for two aboard the five-star Paradise Cruise in Halong Bay (above). The winners will check into a Deluxe Balcony Cabin for the three-day itinerary, which includes stops for swimming, caving and kayaking, as well as five-star cuisine and on-board activities such as tai chi, live music and movie screenings.
The contest is open to Vietnamese and foreign travellers or expats. Interested participants should submit their entries by Jan. 27, 2019. The winners will be announced on Vietnam’s social media accounts (@vietnamtourismboard) on 30 Jan 2019.
