Kuala Lumpur has some of the best infrastructure for the MICE industry in Asia. So when Mövenpick decided to make its Malaysian debut, it came as no surprise that the company chose to construct a property that would maximise its appeal to the event planners of the world. The result is Mövenpick Hotel and Convention Centre KLIA.
Launched this week, Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA, located a few minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the neighbouring KLIA2 terminal, is a masterclass in contemporary design, featuring sleek lines and artful curves, adding an air of unique sophistication to the already striking looks of the property.
“We are delighted to enter the Malaysian market with such a spectacular property, which will benefit from its proximity to one of Southeast Asia’s busiest international air hubs,” said Mark Willis, president for Asia at Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts.
“With its distinctive design, prime location and impressive facilities, the hotel is set to become one of the region’s leading venues for meetings and events and will further cement Mövenpick’s presence in Asia, where we are rapidly expanding our portfolio.”
Drilling down into those MICE stats; the 333-room hotel features an obscene amount of event space including 1,287 sqm open exhibition space, a 777 sqm circular hall, seven discussion rooms, 10 seminar rooms and the vast Main Hall, which covers 2,386 sqm and can be divided into four separate spaces.
The main hotel building also features four modern meeting rooms and two boardrooms, which range from 35 sqm to 109 sqm and are well suited to corporate retreats and strategy meetings.
Leisure facilities are also top notch with separate male, female and kids’ swimming pools; fitness rooms, tennis courts and kids clubs – not to mention the inside and outdoor ‘spa pods’.
“Mövenpick Hotel and Convention Centre KLIA is an important new landmark that caters to a range of guests, from transit passengers, tourists and corporate clients to large groups such as visitors during the annual hajj,” said Hairul Maharis, the hotel’s general manager. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to this spectacular new hotel.”
The hotel is offering a special opening rate valid until 30 September 2018 with Superior Rooms starting at RM388 (USD 95.53) per night including breakfast for two, plsu 50% off when dining in the hotel outlets, 50% off spa treatments, late check out, complimentary upgrade to the next available room category and complimentary airport transfers.
