Meliá Hotels International has launched an upgraded MELIÁ PRO, serving as the new and improved exclusive portal tool with access for important information for B2B tourism professionals.
The new MELIÁ PRO reaffirms Meliá Hotels International’s commitment to the cooperation with travel professionals. Acknowledging the importance of associate travel agents, the group aims to further strengthen the relationship and ensure they have access to the most innovative tools and software in order to maximize their income, reach common synergies and benefits.
MELIÁ PRO has been designed as an intuitive, efficient and comprehensive platform, featuring an easy-to-use booking engine, within which travel agencies are now able to book at net values while the commission is automatically discounted over the price . This secures the most competitive online prices for travel agencies. For travellers who pay upon check out, travel agencies will receive the respective commissions directly in their bank account. In addition, MELIÁ PRO continues to provide MELIÁ PRO Training, an E-learning program based on gamification that enables travel agencies and agents to discover all Meliá brands and properties in an easy way in hope of generating professional growth while creating a win-win relationship.
Currently there are more than 57,000 travel agencies from 120 countries already registered on meliapro.com with 38,352 travel agents registered as Meliá PRO REWARDS members and additional 6,000 agents registered for MELIÁ PRO Training. Through this platform, travel agents have also gained a deeper understanding of the group’s brands. This has, in turn, provided Meliá with insights to the different customer segments, how to better reach and engage with them, and eventually offer more suitable products and services.
In 2016, Meliá remained highly committed to digitalization and continues to generate consistent improvements in the tools and applications used by the company, with the new MELIÁ PRO online channel has registered spectacular growth of 71% globally. The biggest growth came from Spain where MHI has strong brand awareness. Spain remains the main source country, followed by USA, UK, Brazil, Italy, and France.
