Malaysia Airlines’ first A330neo sports stunning patriotic look
The aircraft body features the airline’s signature Malaysia flag livery, but with a sleek 21st century appearance
The first of Malaysia Airlines’ A330neo orders just rolled out of Airbus’ paint shop in Toulouse, France, sporting the airline’s signature livery but with a distinctive touch of 21st century sophistication.
Malaysia Airlines’ flag motif of a golden moon and sun on a blue background is proudly emblazoned on the side of the aircraft, with red and white diagonal stripes directly underneath.
The introduction of the A330neo is an important component of the Malaysia Aviation Group’s (MAG) fleet renewal strategy, initiated in 2022 with the selection of 20 A330neo aircraft. The A330neo will serve routes across Asia, Oceania and the Middle East.
Malaysia Airlines is set to receive its first A330neo in Q3 this year.
A significant milestone
The completion of the painting phase marks a significant milestone in the aircraft’s production journey. Next, the aircraft will be equipped with its state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and undergo performance tests in preparation for its first flight.
During this stage, all cabin systems will also be meticulously tested. This includes comprehensive checks of air flow and air conditioning, lighting, galleys, lavatories, seating, and in-flight entertainment systems.
