Malayasian rainforest sets the stage for chef series
As part of the ongoing chef series, a signature experience at The Datai Langkawi, the resort will welcome London born chef, Nelly Robinson, from 30 August to 1 September 2019, inviting guests to experience and indulge in his culinary excellence in the heart of the Malaysian rainforest. The chef series, which has welcomed culinary luminaries including the legendary Michel and Sébastien Bras, invites Michelin-starred chefs from around the globe to showcase their extraordinary skill and talent at the resort.
Robinson began his career at the tender age of 14 at Michelin-starred restaurant Northcote Manor in England where he trained under chef patron, Nigel Haworth. He went on to open his first restaurant in Australia, pioneering a globally-inspired culinary scene in Sydney. Over the course of three days, Robinson will introduce his gastronomic flair stirring excitement with food to those staying at resort.
The three-day event will feature a five-course dinner at the resort’s beautiful indoor and outdoor The Dining Room venue overlooking the main pool, every evening. Spectacular views of the rainforest canopy provide a breath-taking backdrop to a showcase of the exceptional produce and spices found in the rich natural surroundings of The Datai Langkawi.
Following the resort’s recent refurbishment, every aspect of the guest experience has been reimaged and reassessed with its focus on sustainability bolstered further. The brainchild of general manager Arnaud Girodon, the chef series celebrates the very best in hospitality and gastronomy in the heart of the Malaysian rainforest.
