The latest appointments, including CWT’s new managing director for Asia

BINDU BHATIA has been named as Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s new managing director for Asia Pacific, effective 1 September. She succeeds Kai Chan, who will be leaving the company. Ms Bhatia, who is currently CWT’s senior vice president of global program management, will relocate to Singapore.
KEVIN CROLEY has been appointed to the newly-created role of senior vice president of business development for the Pan Pacific Hotels Group. In a 30-year career, Croley has held senior positions with Hilton and IHG, and most recently he was Pan Pacific’s senior vice president of marketing.
CINN TAN has become Pan Pacific’s new chief sales & marketing officer, in another newly-created role. A Singaporean national with more than 20 years of experience, Ms Tan joins from Yearth Alliance, where she served as chief operating & marketing officer. She has also worked for Jin Jiang.
MARCEL HOLMAN has been appointed general manager of The Sukhothai Shanghai, which is scheduled to open in December. A Dutch national, Holman was formerly the GM of Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel in Taipei. He has also worked for IHG and Rotana in a 24-year career.
CHIKAKO SHIMIZU has become the Andaz Singapore’s director of operations. A Japanese national, Ms Shimizu will oversee the new hotel’s operations and its staff. A Hyatt veteran, she has 23 years of experience at hotels in Macau, Sydney, Melbourne, Shanghai, Osaka, Bali and Singapore.
PETER KHONG has been named as the general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena, as part of the hotel’s pre-opening team. Prior to this role, Khong spent 20 years in China, most recently as GM of Sheraton Shanghai Hongqiao and Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai.
IAN PIRODON has been named as the first general manager of the soon-to-open Holiday Inn & Suites Rayong City Centre, on Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard. Pirodon has extensive experience with IHG, having held roles at Crowne Plaza, InterContinental and Holiday Inn hotels in Australia.
MELISSA TANG has been appointed resort manager of the Four Seasons Resort Langkawi. A 20-year industry veteran, Ms Tang moves to the Malaysian island resort from the Four Seasons Guangzhou, where she first served as director of human resources and later as director of rooms.
