Background:
Amelia is from one of the indigenous tribes in Borneo called the Bidayuh (Land Dayak) and growing up in a rural area there are limited opportunities. She went off to the States to study and returned to her country, all the sudden seen as over-qualified.
Her expertise from her studies in the US was branding and marketing and she finally got a job as a marketing coordinator. She saw the first break as a stepping stone to where she wanted to be.
Summary:
Driven and eager to learn and take on more responsibility she always looked beyond her first role as a coordinator and she learnt the whole eco system of business events. From there she showed great determination, ambition and moved through the ranks.
Amelia has received impressive awards like Most Influential Women Leaders (MICE industry) and Women Scholarship Award by the European School of Management and Technology Berlin.
