Hong Kong’s ITE2024 reported a record number of participants at its fourth in-person iteration following the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 7,000 trade professionals in attendance.
The event welcomed 7,023 buyers and trade visitors, showing an 18.4 percent increase in professional participants from last year. There were also 63,027 non-industry visitors present throughout the four-day expo.
61 percent of the regional buyers who attended were from Mainland China, while 39 percent came from other Asian nations.
The massive crowds came as a surprise to event organisers considering how Hong Kong was battered by highly inclement weather from 13 to 16 June when its weather bureau ran up to three storm warning signals a day due to heavy rains.
Business as usual
The weather notwithstanding, ITE2024 offered its regular Business Matching sessions, along with a KOL networking session, several industry forums, presentations by individual firms, as well as around 100 side seminars for both tourism professionals and the general public.
TKS Exhibition Services Ltd, ITE’s organiser, expressed its gratitude to all who participated in the event, even as it announced its plans for ITE2025.
The 39th edition of the expo will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 12 to 25 June 2025, and will be supported by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
