The organisers of ITB China have organised a preview event ahead of the travel trade show’s inaugural edition.
The first ITB China is due to take place in Shanghai from 10-12 May 2017 and ahead of the show, more than 60 Chinese and international journalists were invited to a special preview event, which took place at the Jin Jiang Tower in Shanghai.
Among the speakers at the event were Dr Martin Buck of Messe Berlin, which organises the ITB events, and David Axiotis, general manager of ITB China.
“We are extremely delighted by the positive feedback on our new show from all over the world. ITB China already is, even before its world premiere, a great success,” said Dr Buck.
With more than two months still to go before ITB China opens its doors, all exhibition space at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre has been sold out. Approximately 600 companies, destinations and organisations will be represented at the three-day travel trade show. They will be able to meet with hundreds of Chinese and international buyers, including local travel giants such as Ctrip, Caissa, Utour and Alitrip.
The conference programme will include a series of keynote speakers, including Rungang Zhang, vice chairman & secretary general of the China Tourism Association, Friedrich Joussen, CEO of TUI Group, and Jane Sun, CEO of Ctrip.
Europe is ITB China’s partner destination, with a dedicated Europe Pavilion feature several national tourism boards, while China Eastern Airlines is the event’s official airline partner and Jin Jiang is ITB China’s hotel partner.
