Indonesian President Joko Widodo has come face-to-face with his waxwork replica at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
Dressed in his trademark white shirt and rolled up sleeves, which were donated by the president himself, President Widodo’s figure stands against a large LED screen displaying images of Indonesia.
The Madame Tussauds spent many hours with the president last October, taking more than 200 measurements to create an exact likeness. And the leader appeared happy impressed with the end result.
“It’s 99.9% the same!” the president said.
Jenny You, general manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, said President Widodo was chosen as he is a “highly respected leader, beloved by public”.
President Joko Widodo becomes the second Indonesian president at the attraction’s Historical and National Heroes area, following independence leader Soekarno.
