ILTM Asia will become ILTM Asia Pacific and move to Singapore in 2018.
The luxury travel show, which currently is currently held in Shanghai, will switch to Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands next year, with the event taking place from 21-24 May.
ILTM will remain in Shanghai however, with a new dedicated China edition due to commence in October 2018. This means that there will be three ILTM shows in Asia next year, along with ILTM Japan, which takes place in Tokyo in February 2018.
The changes were announced at the ILTM Asia 2017 in Shanghai this week, by the event’s portfolio director Alison Gilmore.
“Research amongst our clients shows that the luxury outbound market is growing so fast that many companies are now separating their current and future business plans and marketing strategies to focus on China and Asia as two independent opportunities. ILTM has listened and is responding with two dynamic events dedicated to their own audiences,” Ms Gilmore said.
The rebranded ILTM Asia Pacific will be now represent the whole of Asia, bringing more international buyers, similar to the main ILTM event in Cannes.
On the subject of the new Chinese edition, Ms Gilmore added; “ILTM China will remain in Shanghai and be repositioned specifically to bring Chinese luxury travel planners and buyers to meet with international exhibitors of luxury products and services. Every year we see a big increase in the number of Chinese luxury travel planners wanting to attend ILTM and with this new style of event we can focus on this market solely.”
As well as the three events in Asia and the main edition in France, ILTM hosts annual shows in the Americas, Middle East and Africa.
