Icelandair takes off to Prague
Icelandair celebrated the commencement of its service to the Czech capital city, Prague, from Keflavík Airport in Reykjavik. The new seasonal service will operate four times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, through to October 2023.
Upon landing, the passengers were welcomed to the city with a stately water salute from local fire trucks as the plane made its way to the terminal. The historic city of Prague’s popularity is ever-growing as a travel destination, and is a welcome addition to Icelandair’s strong network, for both connecting passengers and Icelanders alike.
Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair: “Prague is an exciting addition to our strong summer schedule. The city has a lot to offer, including culture, art, history and cuisine. We see great opportunities in offering a morning flight to Prague that ties in well with our North American flights. Currently, there are few flight connections from Prague to the United States and Canada, so we pleased to be able to greatly improve connections between these markets, as well as offer convenient departure times between Iceland and Prague.”
