Manila, Philippines – Hotel Okura Co. Ltd., one of Japan’s leading hotel chains announced recently the launch of its first luxury hotel in the country later in 2018.
The Tokyo-based hotel chain partnered with Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. (TIHGI) to build the up-and-coming establishment that’s soon to rise within Resorts World Manila. The strategic location is situated near the country’s international travel hub, Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The 11-story Hotel Okura Manila will have 191 rooms and promises to be a state-of-the-art destination. It will offer spacious rooms with an average of 60 square metres, as well as a pool and fitness facility. The luxury hotel will also offer several dining options including traditional Japanese and Spanish restaurants, all-day dining, and a bar.
“As Hotel Okura’s first hotel to open in the Philippines, we will leverage the group’s expertise in traditional Japanese hospitality to make Hotel Okura Manila a much-beloved hotel among both local and foreign visitors,” said Toshihiro Ogita, president of Hotel Okura Co., Ltd. “For the past five years, the Philippines has experienced high economic growth surpassing 6% per annum, and its tourism market is expected to achieve mid- to long-term growth.”
The Philippines welcomes Hotel Okura with open arms. The country is planning to attract a target of 12 million foreign tourists by 2022, which will be done through major investments in infrastructure.
On the other hand, Hotel Okura aims to strengthen its bond with promising markets like the Philippines.
As a gesture of its commitment, the Japanese group donated 100,000 USD to the Philippine Red Cross for its natural disaster recovery funds.
