From the city that never sleeps to the curving south-central coast of Vietnam — here are the hottest hotel openings from around the world. In this week’s line-up, we’re taking a peek at new properties from Fortuna Realty Group, Epikurean Hotels & Lifestyle, ibis Styles and more.
Hotel Hendricks
Soaring twenty-seven stories over Fifth Avenue, Hotel Hendricks is the latest addition to Fortuna Realty Group’s collection of Manhattan hotels.
The property and its guestrooms are located just steps away from the Fashion District and Bryant Park. With interiors by LA-based interior designer Marcello Pozzi, the hotel and its 176 guestrooms boast views of the Empire State Building and the cityscape. With two rooftop bars and a Latin-infused restaurant, Hotel Hendricks is set to be a new Midtown hotspot in the area.
“Accessible luxury in New York City”
“We are thrilled to introduce Hotel Hendricks as we continue to become synonymous with accessible luxury in New York City,” said Morris Moinian, chairman of Fortuna Realty Group.
“The success of our existing hotels will be further solidified as we unveil this trendy sanctuary amongst the hustle and bustle of Midtown. Hotel Hendricks will be a go-to destination for guests looking to indulge in one of the most exhilarating parts of the city and we’re so looking forward to bringing the property to life this Spring.”
Kavya Phu Yen Bay
Nestled on Vietnam’s Phu Yen province, along the curving south-central coast, is Kavya Phu Yen Bay, a new luxury resort by Epikurean Hotels & Lifestyle scheduled to open in November. The tropic getaway will feature 62 oversized guest rooms with direct pool access, 18 one- and two- bedroom pool villas, and a private beach.
Phu Yen is a province with a landscape of mountains, rivers, lagoons, and plains with 124 miles of shoreline. With a population of only around a hundred thousand, the location provides a secluded retreat, away from flocks of travellers in the region.
ibis Styles Gloucester Road
AccorHotels’ ibis Styles has unveiled the new design of its latest hotel ibis Styles Gloucester Road. The 84-bedroom Victorian hotel has had a stylish makeover from the ground up, breaking the mould of a budget stay.
Re-imagining the lobby space, the ground floor is now a relaxed and airy open-plan hangout space where guests can kick-back. Minimalist furnishings have also been paired with luxe fabrics and natural wood finishings to create a welcoming feel.
ibis Styles Gloucester Road is a stone’s throw away from Gloucester Road tube station in South Kensington and counts the Victoria & Albert Museum, Science & Natural History Museum and the Royal Albert Hall as neighbours.
Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Denver Tech Center North
Fairfield by Marriott has announced the opening of its 1,000th hotel location, making it the second brand in its portfolio besides Courtyard by Marriott to reach this milestone.
Fairfield has recently experienced global growth in China, Japan, Mexico, India and the US. While the debut of Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Denver Tech Center North sets the milestone, the brand expects to continue its growth expansion with more than 300 hotels anticipated by 2021.
Fairfield by Marriott was inspired by the Marriott family’s weekend retreat, the Fairfield Farm – in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia – which JW and Alice Marriott purchased in 1951 as a calm respite from the everyday commitments of their growing business.
