Hot hotel openings: The Ritz-Carlton debuts in Montenegro and more

On this week’s hot hotel openings, we’re seeing properties in the most exotic destinations — from the Adriatic coast of Montenegro to the South Beach of Miami and more.
The Ritz-Carlton, Montenegro
Marriott International has announced the signing of a milestone agreement with Northstar D.O.O. to bring The Ritz-Carlton brand to Montenegro. Under the plan funded by Al Yasra, The Ritz-Carlton, Montenegro and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Montenegro are scheduled to open its doors in 2023.
Slated to rise on the Western tip of the chic Luštica Peninsula, the hotel and residences are expected to boast panoramic views over the glittering Adriatic Sea. Planned to be accessible by car in 30 minutes from Tivat International Airport or two hours from Dubrovnik International Airport, the coastal property is expected to allow guests and residents to make an unforgettable entrance via the sea at a planned private jetty.

Banyan Tree Krabi
Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has announced a new resort in Krabi, scheduled to open in Q2 2020.
Banyan Tree Krabi will be a locally-infused sanctuary on the west coast of southern Thailand, nestled about half an hour’s drive from Ao Nang. It will offer 72 intimate pool suites and villas, overlooking the crystal clear waters of the Andaman Sea and the surrounding limestone peaks and tropical islands.
Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa
The Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, has finally opened its doors. The 5-star resort, located in the Raa Atoll in the Northern Maldives archipelago, boasts a 20-hectares island with 120-hectares lagoon and is surrounded by over 1.7 km of house reef, white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters.
The 120 villas are divided into 11 different villa categories all with full privacy, including the biggest Royal Beach Villa (900 sqm) of the Maldives, and are designed using a selection of lavish materials such as bamboo, natural stones and “Langhi Langhi” leaves combining the tropical atmosphere of the island with the elegant touch of the modern interior style of the villas.
The resort has also a private marina with direct access for seaplanes.
Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach
Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach is set to welcome its first guests in late 2019.
The chic property will be located in the heart of South Beach, a popular international and local destination in Miami Beach. The property will be the boutique hotel company’s fifth in the Sunshine State, complementing its existing hotels in Miami Beach, Downtown Miami and Vero Beach.
Altamarea Group, the New York restaurant hospitality group, will run the hotel’s food and beverage program and bring its Osteria Morini brand from Soho to the Kimpton Palomar.
The St Regis Amman
St Regis Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of The St Regis Amman, marking the debut of the luxury brand in the Kingdom of Jordan.
Extending the legacy of the Astor family from Fifth Avenue in New York to Amman’s 5th Circle, The St Regis Amman blends the sophistication and heritage of the original St Regis hotel in New York with Jordan’s rich Bedouin culture.
Opulent décor and plush interiors are accentuated by bespoke elements such as a striking grand staircase and delicately designed chandeliers, while subtle nuances help to highlight elements unique to the destination, including the Dead Sea and sculpted rose stones of Petra.
