Hong Kong recently secured the right to host the 2026 Lions International Convention, and will be staging it at the AsiaWorld-Expo in July 2026.
One of the world’s largest service club events, the Lions International Convention stands to draw in around 20,000 attendees from across the globe.
Hong Kong previously hosted the Lions International Convention twice: first in 1992, and again in 2005.
This massive win marks the triumphant return of one of the biggest conventions to Hong Kong. It also underscores the city’s capabilities when it comes to hosting large-scale international events, cementing its position as one of the region’s leading MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) destinations.
Ready to roar
Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) chair Pang Yiu-kai said: “Hong Kong is ready to roar with excitement as we support Lions Clubs International District 303 as they host the 2026 Lions International Convention.”
Pang explained that the event aligns with HKTB’s mission to grow the MICE sector and bring the world’s most prestigious events to the city. This, in turn, stands to drive social and economic benefits for Hong Kong.
Lions Clubs International District 303 governor Sammy Shum added: “We’re thrilled to host the 2026 Lions International Convention in Hong Kong. The city’s diverse culture and dynamic energy will fuel ‘Lionism’ by providing a robust platform for members from around the world to come together and interact with each other as they enjoy making a difference in their communities.”
