Hong Kong residents will soon be offered a new direct connection to Colombo, following the rearrangement of SriLankan Airlines’ Asian operations.
Effective 15 July 2017, the national carrier will replace its existing Colombo-Bangkok-Hong Kong route with new direct flights to both cities.
The non-stop Colombo-Hong Kong service will operate five times a week using an Airbus A321 aircraft. This will replace the existing thrice weekly A330 flights, which operate via Bangkok. SriLankan will compete with Cathay Pacific on the Hong Kong-Colombo route.
And also on 15 July, SriLankan will add a third daily flight to Thailand’s capital city, using a single-aisle A320-series aircraft.
