HKTB, Traveloka VN sign memorandum of understanding
The move aims to promote Hong Kong to Vietnamese travellers
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Traveloka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly promote Hong Kong as a tourist destination to Vietnamese travelers through inspirational marketing campaigns and exclusive deals.
According to the latest HKTB report, Vietnam showed an impressive 100 percent increase in the number of tourists visiting Hong Kong in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. This increase underscores the growing appeal of Hong Kong’s tourism offerings among Vietnamese travelers.
The signing ceremony also marks a significant milestone in elevating the travel experience for Vietnamese tourists and contributes to promoting Hong Kong as an attractive tourist destination, showcasing the city’s unique cultural features.
HKTB regional director for Southeast Asia Liew Chian Jia said of the understanding: “Partnering with Traveloka is pivotal for us as it unlocks the tourism potential in Hong Kong and helps us gain valuable insights about Vietnamese travelers. Therefore, we are optimistic that this collaboration will strengthen Hong Kong’s popularity in the market and marks an exciting step in enriching travel experiences for Vietnamese travelers.”
In turn, Traveloka CEO for transport Iko Putera said: “We recognize the significant potential for Hong Kong to become a sought-after outbound tourist destination for Vietnamese travelers.
