Pioneering New Zealand-based expedition cruise company Heritage Expeditions has released its 2023-24 Southern Ocean Season adding some exciting destinations to its iconic voyages.
Commercial Director and Expedition Leader Aaron Russ said the 2023-24 season proudly continues Heritage Expeditions tradition of exceptional, personalised adventures sharing unforgettable, intimate explorations of some of the world’s best-kept secrets, cultural encounters and wilderness and wildlife hotspots.
“Our new Southern Ocean Season sees us exploring the island paradise of the South Pacific, down to the wild and remote Subantarctic Islands, returning to the heart of Antarctica, the Ross Sea, and the coastlines and islands of New Zealand aboard our luxurious expedition flagship Heritage Adventurer,” he said.
Among the new destinations were Komodo National Park, the land of the Komodo Dragon, and Jacques Cousteau’s “underwater nirvana” Wakatobi National Park joining the tropical paradise of Raja Ampat and Whale Sharks of Kwatisore Bay on an 18-day voyage Indonesian Explorer from Bali to Madang.
“These itinerary revisions turn what was already an unforgettable voyage into a real Indonesia bucket list adventure.”
And with New Zealand’s borders about to open up to the world again, small-ship expedition cruising was the perfect way to experience parts of the country still unexplored by many New Zealanders with the Kiwi family-owned and operated company, said Aaron.
“We have more than 35 year’s experience exploring New Zealand’s coastlines and islands and our immersive wilderness expeditions are created to share parts of New Zealand many visitors, and New Zealanders alike, rarely get the chance to experience.”
Heritage Expeditions 2023-24 Southern Ocean Season is now on sale.
