Hard Rock Hotels has confirmed that its first hotel in mainland China will open this summer, located in the southern city of Shenzhen.
Forming part of the Mission Hills golf development, Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen will feature the brand’s usual blend of musically-themed rooms and facilities, including restaurants, bars and retail outlets. It will also showcase 80,000+ pieces of musical memorabilia, “celebrat[ing] legendary music icons from around the world”.
“We are proud to bring the Hard Rock Hotel experience to Mainland China where consumers are equally passionate about music and travel,” said Peter Wynne, Hard Rock Hotels’ area vice president of operations for Asia Pacific.
“Guests can expect the same music-centred fun as other Hard Rock Hotels around the world. As our brand has proven over the years, nothing is more universal than a love of music and having a great time.”
The new hotel will feature 258 rooms and suites, including the Rock Royalty Studio Suites and Rock Star Suite. F&B outlets will include a Hard Rock Cafe, an all-day restaurant, a rooftop restaurant and pool bar, lobby lounge and cake shop.
Other facilities include a pool, fitness centre, kids’ club, a Rock Shop selling Hard Rock-branded merchandise, and more than 1,000m² of event space.
The surrounding Mission Hills Shenzhen complex features 12 golf courses and a range of other leisure facilities, 30 minutes’ drive from downtown Shenzhen and 45 minutes from the city’s Bao’an International Airport.
Hard Rock currently operates six hotels in Asia Pacific, including one in Macau. In addition to the Shenzhen property, further mainland Chinese Hard Rock hotels are being planned in Haikou and Dalian.
