Hilton has announced the opening of Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto, a 500-year-old property, joining the Curio Collection by Hilton portfolio of more than 55 hotels around the world.
“The opening of this property highlights our commitment to expanding our collection of distinctive hotels in key destinations across the globe, and we look forward to providing unexpected and authentic experiences to travellers in our third destination in Italy, joining La Bagnaia Golf & Spa Resort Siena, Curio Collection by Hilton and Aleph Rome Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton,” said Mark Nogal, global head, Curio Collection by Hilton.
The hotel, which was once owned by one of the wealthiest and noblest families in Milan, is nestled in the greenery of Parco Nord. It’s a 15-minute drive away from the city centre and is close to the Linate and Malpensa Airports and Milan Central Railway Station, offering access to major business, sport and entertainment venues, including the Milano Congressi (MiCo) convention centre and the San Siro stadium.
“Our debut in the iconic city of Milan”
Nogal added: “We are excited to introduce Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto to Curio Collection by Hilton, as we make our debut in the iconic city of Milan.”
The property has gone through a refurbishment and features 77 guest rooms including seven suites and a new fitness centre.
Furthermore, overlooking the main floor of the villa is the restaurant, Il Vico della Torretta. Led by chef Angelo Nasta, who has received the Giallo Milano award twice for serving the best saffron risotto in town, the restaurant offers traditional Milanese cuisine, accompanied by a selection of fine domestic and international wines. With its Italian gardens and expansive indoor spaces, Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto is the ideal destination for hosting functions or events.
Guido Della Frera, president of GDF Group, which owns and operates the hotel, commented: “Our partnership with Hilton continues to grow since the opening of the Hilton Garden Inn Milano Nord three years ago. We are excited to welcome Curio Collection by Hilton in Milan and to have the opportunity to make the most of this fantastic property.”
“A historic, countryside Milanese retreat”
Valeria Albertini, the general manager of the hotel, said: “Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto is perfect for travellers looking for a historic, countryside Milanese retreat backed by authentic hospitality and world-class service. The splendour of the 16th century shines through every aspect of the hotel. We look forward to welcoming guests to a truly one-of-a-kind hotel experience.”
