India’s sunshine state and tourism hotspot Goa has become more accessible for people with mobility issues, thanks to Ezy Mov– India’s first wheelchair taxi service provider to provide accessible guided tours in the state.
Ezy Mov’s taxis are fitted with world-class equipment like hydraulic lifts and wheelchair restraint systems and are driven by a team of professional and courteous drivers. Having completed more than 100,000 successful rides, they said they are proud in making those with restricted mobility and confined to the four walls move out and experience life again.
With an aim to make Goa a fully accessible destination and address different mobility issues of tourists, Enable Travel, India’s accessible holiday specialist has partnered with Ezy Mov to facilitate the itineraries of those with mobility challenges.
Launched in March 2017, Enable Travel is powered by Cox & Kings and has hosted curated holiday experiences for the disabled (wheelchair, blind, deaf and speech impairment) as well as for senior citizens. Its #CanDo campaign has successfully inspired many disabled and able-bodied to change their mindsets and bring about a positive impact on disability.
They believe travel gives the differently abled a chance to come out of their homes and converge with their community which is not very common and share their travel stories and life experiences with the world.
Debolin Sen, head, Enable Travel, Shama Noorani, Enable Travel expert, along with Bennet D’cunha, co-Founder and CEO of Ezy Mov announced their partnership in their first joint effort to make travel barrier-free in Goa.
“Ensure barrier-free travel and enhance transportation”
Speaking about the partnership, Sen said: “Goa serves as one of the most popular and preferred travel destinations in India for both domestic and international tourists. However, due to lack of transport facilities available, people with mobility issues including elderly travellers are unable to experience a destination in its broadest sense. To ensure barrier-free travel and enhance transportation within a destination, we have partnered with Ezy Mov who are experienced to address this need. We are very proud to be continuing our commitment to make travel easy and hassle-free in India and working with like-minded partners to create an inclusive and accessible travel environment.”
“Leading country with regards to accessible tourism”
Speaking on the partnership, D’cunha said: “Our mission is to position India as the leading country with regards to accessible tourism. What better place to start the journey than Goa – the premier holiday destination of our country. Moreover, the public infrastructure in Goa currently is more accessible than compared to other states.
“Also be available for the local population”
Ezy Mov and Enable Travel are the first movers in the accessible transportation and travel space in our country. Hence, we share the common vision of providing world-class end to end accessible assistance to our esteemed customers travelling from all over the world into India and Goa in particular. The coming together of both these companies will give the much-needed boost to the accessible tourism market in India. This service will also be available for the local population to meet their healthcare and social needs.”
In the coming months Ezy Mov will stitch pan India partnerships with all transport stakeholders– the Railways, Airlines, Road and Taxi aggregators to ensure a complete and convenient end-to-end last mile connectivity for the elderly and the disabled in India.
