The Global Travel Group has seen membership levels rise by 22% in the last year with a record number of experienced travel professionals opting to join the consortium.
Of the agencies who have signed up to join, 43% are experienced industry professionals with the remaining being newcomers.
Rhian Herbert, The Global Travel Group’s head of new business, said:
“With over 20 years’ experience, we are delighted to see that The Global Travel Group is helping encourage more new and established agents into running their own travel businesses. Our team is constantly updating the range of back-office tools, marketing materials and exclusive training opportunities available to our members, so it’s inspiring to see that our programme of carefully tailored support is motivating new travel businesses to succeed in one of the world’s most dynamic industries.”
The news comes soon after the end of the consortium’s biggest turn-of-year marketing campaign, the three-month #LoveTravel promotion which saw members capitalise on tailor-made print and digital materials to increase their market share during the industry’s key booking period.
Members of the group will be able to have further advice at the upcoming annual conference which is due to take place at La Manga Club in Murcia, Spain, from 21-24 May 2017.
With TV presenter and cruise singer Jane McDonald recently confirmed as the guest speaker of the three-day conference, agent attendees will benefit from practical advice on building and managing a successful brand in a competitive marketplace.
