A major new tourist attraction will open its doors in central Tokyo’s Ginza district this week.
Kyodo News reports that the brand new 19-storey commercial complex, Ginza Six, will feature more than 200 stores and restaurants across a total floor space of approximately 47,000m².
A traditional Japanese “noh” theatre will be also be contained within the complex, while five floors will be dedicated to office space.
To accommodate tourist groups, a terminal for sightseeing buses has been incorporated into the premises and a customer service counter on the ground floor will provide currency exchange services.
Ginza Six sits on the site of the former Matsuzakaya department store, which was one of Ginza’s most well-known landmarks.
