The inaugural edition of ITB China is now fully booked, three months before the event opens.
The new travel trade show, which is dedicated to the Chinese travel industry, takes place from 10-12 May 2017 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre. In total, 600 organisations and companies will be represented at the event, and organisers said that new exhibitors are already being placed on waiting lists due to the high demand.
In its first edition, the focus of ITB China will be on Europe, which is the show’s “official partner destination”. A dedicated Europe Pavilion will be showcasing the series of European destinations, all of which are aiming to attract a share of the large and lucrative Chinese outbound travel market.
The national tourism boards of Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia and Germany will all be represented at the Europe pavilion, while other countries including Austria, Finland, Greece, Portugal and Turkey will also be in attendance.
The Middle East and Americas will also be well-represented, with the tourism promotions boards of Abu Dhabi, Jordan, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah all on show, along with exhibitors from Canada, the US, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.
Several major hotel brands will also be in attendance, including Best Western, Jin Jiang, Pan Pacific, Ascott, Maritim and Radisson.
The trade show will feature a technology section called eTravel World China, featuring companies including Amadeus, Booking.com, Expedia and the Chinese company behind WeChat.
