Fairmont Royal Pavilion, Barbados has put finishing touches on an exciting renovation, revealing significant enhancements designed to ensure a welcoming, comfortable and thoroughly luxurious experience for guests.
Launched in August and wrapped up right on schedule in mid-November, the multimillion-dollar project, led by internationally renowned design agency Richmond International, included a complete transformation of the hotel lobby and each of the 72 guest rooms and suites.
“We are excited to welcome guests back and offer them a revamped and stylish experience at the newly renovated Fairmont Royal Pavilion and really showcase the vibrant and natural beauty of Barbados,” commented Kiaran MacDonald, regional vice president, Caribbean and general manager Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda.
A secluded gem on 11 acres of tropical beauty and a half-mile stretch of beachfront, Fairmont Royal Pavilion serves up the Caribbean in style with tranquil ambiance, gorgeous sea views, and a new creative take on world-renowned regional cuisine under Executive Chef Kirk Kirton, a local Barbadian who earned his chops at Michelin-starred restaurants in England before returning home.
On-site activities engage sophisticated travellers throughout their stay, from non-motorized watersports to tennis on outdoor courts, and the not-to-be-missed Afternoon Tea served in the open air at Taboras restaurant.
A Welcome to Remember
Arriving guests of Fairmont Royal Pavilion are now welcomed into a newly enhanced lobby with distinctive enhancements, including a small bar attended by mixologists pouring locally-inspired signature cocktails and more, before beachfront and Caribbean views.
The pink hues already featured throughout the lobby have been maintained, hearkening back to the hotel’s original terracotta, to ensure a memorable arrival experience for new and returning guests alike.
Accommodating in Comfort and Style
The new design concept intends to highlight the interaction between the island beauty outside and new comforts and design touches within. Views of the Caribbean and palm tree-dotted beaches are as captivating as ever, with uninterrupted perspectives through guest room windows and sliding glass doors and beyond contemporary furniture and furnishings that are at once unobtrusive, light and crisp.
The hotel’s accommodations have been further elevated by new functional details, including cutting-edge lighting technology, flat-screen televisions, state-of-the-art joinery, and dazzling bar sets. Natural woods and tones were used to brighten interiors, which have been re-arrayed to make best possible use of their space.
Of course, all guest rooms and suites within Fairmont Royal Pavilion offer fabulous views of the beach and the sea – especially upper-level rooms, from which guests can glimpse the waterline blending with the horizon. Whatever the level, all guest decks have been redesigned into “chill-out spaces” with furniture replaced with day beds for luxurious relaxation.
What’s next for the luxurious five-star beachfront address? The transformation of the hotel’s onsite dining experiences, including Taboras Restaurant, Palm Terrace Restaurant, and the property’s Beach Club, set for summer 2018.
