StudentUniverse, is a Greater Boston-based travel tech company that operates the world’s largest student and youth online travel marketplace. We are looking for a Director, Growth Marketing to spearhead our growth ambitions across four markets – USA, Canada, the UK and Australia.
StudentUniverse’s parent company, Flight Centre Travel Group is based in Brisbane, Australia and is one of the world’s largest travel agency groups with company owned operations in 23 countries and a corporate travel management network that spans more than 90 countries.

StudentUniverse is founded on the desire to empower students and youth to travel more, by accessing uniquely priced, best-in-market airfares & hotels, without the hassle of physical ID cards. Who we are looking for
We’re looking for a motivated Director, Growth Marketing to join our small, but perfectly formed marketing team. You’ll work collaboratively with the VP, Marketing (currently based in London) to set and own the global marketing strategy. You’ll be a rounded marketing leader, be able to think strategically – but have the knowhow to execute and get the job done. You’ll be a people person, know your way around a product management structure and be able to build relationships to achieve ultimate business success.
As a travel technologist you’ll be obsessed with data, using a range of data to inform your daily decision making and uncover opportunities for the business to grow. You’ll need to work closely with the Business Intelligence team and market analysts to ensure the marketing team have accurate, clean and relevant data to inform decision making.
You’ll be a proactive problem solver and will thrive in a collaborative environment. You’ll need to feel at home in the fast paced world of travel tech, be comfortable with a healthy amount of ambiguity and working within a global marketing team.

Your responsibilities
Collaborate with the VP, Marketing on setting and driving our long term global marketing strategyOversee & nurture a small team of growth oriented marketers; including performance marketing & SEO
Own a significant percentage of the marketing budget
Be the de-facto marketing product manager, supporting build vs. buy analysis and business cases to iterate on our marketing technology toolkit
Be a marketing stakeholder on our strategic product teams as required
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data foundation & reporting is robust in supporting marketing decision making
Support the long-term nurturing of our value-based partnerships (e.g. Amazon Student Prime)
Must have skills
5+ years in digital marketing or operations, product management experience is preferred
An understanding of marketing as a primary driver of wider business success
Hands on experience of the tools & metrics to effectively demonstrate marketing ROI
Demonstrated ability to lead marketing, product and/or marketing operations teams
Exceptional organizational & communication skills
Able to take complicated/niche subjects and translate them into layman terms for a broad audience
Forward thinking, always looking for opportunities to innovate and grow
Hands-on experience in marketing channel execution (PPC, social media, email etc) is preferred but not essential
