Sr. Full Stack Engineer
Shep, an Austin-based startup that was acquired by Flight Centre Travel Group in 2021, is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team!
Shep’s parent company, Flight Centre Travel Group is based in Brisbane, Australia, and is one of the world’s largest travel agency groups with company-owned operations in 23 countries and a corporate travel management network that spans more than 90 countries.
Shep was founded with the vision that transparent data and ubiquitous communication could transform business travel for the good of the traveler and the travel manager. We use web browser extension technology to overlay messaging and user interaction elements on top of corporate and consumer travel sites while collecting behavioral data to better predict and support future travelers.
Responsibilities:
Committing/Merging code in a multi-person environment
Working on flexibility to cope with rapid changes in microservices
Designing/Implementing backend APIs using OpenAPI v3 Specification
Integrating with other backend services depending on our clients’ needs (SSO, other APIs, etc.)
Evolving our DB schema to support new use-cases
Researching technologies and frameworks to use in existing application
Keeping up-to-date with the latest technical trends and techniques to share and apply those learnings
Requirements:
Experience in Node
HTML/SASS
ES6, Webpack, React, Redux
Chrome-extension development
Git and feature-branch workflow
Shape Up Methodology
Refactoring for simplification and maintainability
Recent and relevant code samples from your GitHub account must be provided to be considered for this role. Bonus points if you have Gist’s or a Blog.
Experience developing Chrome extensions
At least 5 years web development experience
Experience in user-data security/privacy
AWS, Docker, CircleCI
You’re passionate about taking the leap into the travel technology world
You care about software craftsmanship and producing quality code
You understand software engineering principles and standards and have an effective way to communicate them with others
