Flight Centre’s Corporate Travel Brands’ technology team have an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join us in our Travel Operations team
Our travel operations team is a cross functional team working closely with our corporate travel brands to grow productivity and automation for our-in house travel managers. 
This role will see you work primarily in the travel automation space of our platform working with large industry platforms such as Sabre & Amadeus GDS platform, hotel aggregation platforms (think booking.com or expedia) and online booking tools.

 The Role 
 
Designs, codes, tests, corrects, and documents programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
Hands-on development: using Java as the main programming language, plus Spring, Hibernate and other open-source technologies
Configures the hardware environment, produces integration test specifications, and conducts tests, recording details of any failures and carrying out fault diagnosis.
Take software architectural decisions with the technical and solution architects.
Produces test scripts, materials, and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
Records and analyses actions and results, and maintains a defect register
Maintains current knowledge of malware attacks, and other cyber security threats.
 
 The Technology 
 
In our Corporate Travel technology teams, we use java and .NET in both an on-prem and Microsoft azure cloud-based solution. The Customer Operations team which this role is aligned too is prominently a Java based team.

Azure Machine Learning
Rest / SOAP Apis
IntelliJ for Java development
Jenkins – but we are soon migrating to Azure DevOps
 
We are looking for someone who loves their craft and is a passionate Java engineer with strong foundations.  You should be comfortable working with libraries such as Spring Framework and JPA and not afraid to learn new things.
