Job Description

Product Designer
WhereTo (now a Flight Centre company) is looking for a Product Designer to join our growing product team as we tackle some of those most interesting problems in business travel.
We’re a nimble, startup-minded team within the larger company focused on building the next-generation business travel platform that serves two of Flight Centre’s main businesses: SMB travel handled by Corporate Traveler and Enterprise travel handled by FCM.
Having our own autonomy and culture, we’re able to take more risks and push code out faster like a startup, but with the resources of a 30+ year old publicly traded company that has considerable cash flow.
If you want to be part of a startup-minded team that has the guidance and resources of a large corporation, where you can learn, take on big projects, and grow your craft, then this is the place for you.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record solving complex interaction problems across multiple platforms. They have an eye for pixel perfect detail, and possess a strong blend of interaction and visual design skills, as well as user-centered design principles. The applicant must have an affinity for consistency, color use, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details. While exercising a good eye for aesthetics, candidates must be able to grasp and distill highly complex issues. Deliverables include wireframes, design mockups, and documentation required for proper implementation.
The candidate must be a natural collaborator with excellent communication skills and able to present design ideas in a team environment. Applicants will report directly to the Head of Product Design and work closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Production, Product Marketing, and Senior Management. Prior experience working within a technical environment is a plus. Applicants should be self-motivated, proactive, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision. Applicants must flourish in a fast paced, multi-project, deadline driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Submitting design concepts for brainstorming and approval in a timely manner.
Consulting with the project team and determining visual and interactive design preferences and expectations.
Meeting with the project team for feedback and editing designs, when required.
Employ design concepts into functional prototypes.

Keeping track of advancements in visual design technologies and applications, as well as industry trends.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or similar and equivalent work experience and portfolio.
3-4 years of experience as a Product Designer, or similar.
A portfolio of visual design examples, preferably examples of a SaaS product.
Advanced proficiency in visual design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite’s InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Figma, Zeplin.
Expert knowledge of user-centered design philosophies.
Experience in determining visual design preferences and meeting deadlines.
Excellent communication skills.
BONUS: skilled in iconography animations using After Effects or other animation tools
