Junior Accounting Clerk
The Flight Centre Travel Group (FLT) is one of the world’s largest travel retailers and corporate travel managers. Flight Centre Travel Group Americas is a dynamic and fast-growing region within the group; we are seeking a Junior Accountant for our shared services division. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for several different accounting and finance-related tasks, will provide administrative support to the Finance team with a focus on performing treasury related tasks, and general accounting department functions.
Responsibilities:
Generate internal statements from databases, as well as corresponding EFT files (credit cards, internal fund movements etc.)
Provide back up support for treasury department on an as needed basis. Tasks includes but is not limited to the following:
Processing payments (wires, EFT, Online bills)
Daily banking balance and any overdraft funding
Merchant queries
Banking queries
Managing Treasury’s inbox
Verify refund EFT to clients
Maintain staffing and cost center’s hierarchy in Expense and Invoice system (Concur)
Administer our gift card system (Givex)
Perform month-end close for Umapped in QuickBooks
Invoicing TopDeck for payments made locally
Month-end internal clearing transactions for subsidiaries (Student Universe, LDV, Umapped, Ixtapa)
Ad-hoc projects or analysis as needed
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Working towards accounting designation (CPA, CA)
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles with experience performing some of the responsibilities listed above
1-3 years’ General Accounting Experience
Experience working in a multinational company desirable
Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
Power BI desirable
Ability to manage multiple tasks, be well organized, have a proven history of success
Ability to work independently and as a team
Excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork & problem-solving skills
Positive attitude with excellent customer service skills
