Head of Financial Control and Reporting – Brisbane QLD

About the Opportunity
We are seeking an motivated experienced leader looking for the perfect opportunity to join Global Land Supply (GLS). GLS is a global business (a pillar of the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG)) which operates in over 20 countries, across multiple brands and various segments within the travel industry. It consists of 5 pillars to support the customer’s experience in-destination and throughout their travel journey including Global Experiences, Global Procurement, Global Touring, Global Hotels and Global Shared Services.
Global Finance Shared Services supports the GLS strategy by effectively managing $1.4B of transactions in a mix of 50 currencies and being a centre of excellence. Teams are located onshore in Brisbane and Sydney, supported by offshore partners. Global Finance Shared Services combines the disciplines of Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Process Automation with a goal to improve service, reduce costs and enhance reporting and financial control over what could be achieved independently.
 
What You Will Be Doing
The successful candidate will be responsible to oversee the accurate preparation and presentation of the consolidated financial information including the financial performance and position of the businesses which it supports globally (GLS, Wholesale and growing).  They will be responsible for the relationship with key stakeholders, drive excellence in Financial Control across all entity it supports and consistently improve the service in providing insights on the financial performance and key indicators.
Due to the diverse nature of the business and the ongoing growth of responsibility and system rollout, the successful candidate will need to balance the role of overseeing the key outputs of monthly financial reporting and the financial control compliance with major project initiatives in expanding and growing the finance function as more FCTG’s finance functions are to be centralised and globalised in this area.  This will including working closely with the Project team as well as key stakeholders being Financial Controllers and General Managers in overseas countries. 
This role will be part of the GLS Finance leadership team and is expected to provide valuable input on overall GLS Finance strategies and its globalisation plans as well as implementation of it.
 
What You Will Need
CA/CPA Qualified – Essential
5yrs+ in leadership experience – Essential
5yrs+ in Audit or Commercial role – Essential
SUN/Oracle and Dynamics 365 – Highly Desirable
Experience in implementation of new Finance Systems – Highly Desirable
