About the opportunity
To create, iterate and continually drive Travel Associates brand’s product, pricing and content strategy in Australia, that supports the vision, strategic objectives and growth plans set by the Global Product Leader.
This role will need to systematically work with team members to surface and manage local market customer and business needs and prioritise these to the optimal commercial and competitive success of the business. This role will be responsible for ensuring local product and content plans and results are delivered through innovation, strong leadership and communication.
Accountabilities
Strategic Product, Content Vision and Plan
Define and manage the luxury product life cycle – when do we innovate vs retire
Ensure the Brand & DNA is evident in the creation of bespoke product design and execution of new product ranges
Brand’s pricing position is clear to drive decisions and assist with deploying tactical strategies with sales and ops teams
Create and drive a compelling product and content strategic plan that is fully aligned to Travel Associates vision and objectives & for new customer segments
Thorough understanding of the competitive landscape to identify opportunity or a lack of competitiveness, accompanied by a go to market plan to overcome or capitalise
Systematic contribution to customer discovery efforts in the product teams, using a methodical process such as design thinking or lean design to directly determine customer needs and wants
Supplier Partnerships
Represent the Brand and articulate plans and goals to suppliers where required
Ensure our Supplier Partnership teams understand the key USPs of the brand and the luxury sector
Capitalise on specific opportunities for the luxury market, when working with partners plans and objectives
Strong Leadership
Provide leadership and direction to the Travel Associates Product team members
Ensure the Travel Associates luxury product direction is clearly articulated and adhered to at all times
Drive the successful deployment of the strategy and plans
Ensure everyone knows what the plans and expectations and create ownership and discipline to deliver within set timeframes
Create a regular forum of key stakeholders to ensure they understand the role they play in creation, deployment and success of the strategy

Makes effective decisions: Makes decisions authoritatively and wisely, after adequately contemplating various available courses of action
Commercial acumen: Shows passion for improving the delivery of product with a commitment to continuous improvement, understands key business drivers and contributes to success and consistence of these drivers, understands FCTG’s Brand Strategies and works to deliver and offer new Product opportunities, entrepreneurial mindset (identifies business opportunities for the organisation), Considers cost and efficiency when making decisions, understands the levers to pull to increase sales and profitability
Effective Communication: Clearly conveys ideas and thoughts to others both verbally and in the written form, able to identify and decipher messages from non-verbal communication, considers the needs of the audience and communicates in a fashion that will best meet these needs
Education and Qualifications:
Qualifications: Essential/Desirable
Degree Qualified: Desirable
Travel Industry Experience: Essential – at least 5 years
Travel Product Experience: Essential – at least 3 years in a senior product or supply role
