About The Opportunity
FCTG is embarking on an aggressive growth strategy leveraging our supply products, capabilities, and technology systems to acquire and service external customers across all B2B & B2C distribution channels. The GM – Global Wholesale & Trade will be responsible for developing these overall strategies in conjunction with the External Distribution SWOT team and directly responsible for all aspects of the Global Wholesale & Trade business unit with a particular focus on the Americans and GOGO Vacations critical role in the broader strategy.
This position will be responsible for driving and delivering significant, sustainable, profitable growth within the Wholesale & Trade sector through aggressive long-term vision and goals, with clear strategies and implementation plans to achieve those goals. This pivotal time in the evolution of FCTG external distribution strategy requires a critical thinker, with strong change management skills, visionary leadership, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
The role will need to evaluate current and future Wholesale & Trade business models and determine where success lies, then make data driven decisions. There should be a clear line of sight to success as well as continual revalidation of both progress and performance.
This position is expected to work closely with all business units within the FCTG family. and is expected to positively represent all Flight Centre Brands within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the strategic direction of the product distribution and be responsible for leading the product owners within the business.
Solicit and direct both client and supplier feedback to improve the product offerings.
Develop and effectively present coherent, well-structured negotiating positions
Build long-term relationships with negotiating partners
Critical to the role is the integration of the business units across the Americas. All units are expected to follow OBW and adhere to consistent standards.
Demonstrates ownership of the business, making clear and effective decisions to help drive the business forward
Embrace all philosophies, values, and change
Takes ownership of successes and failures
Adhere to FCTG policies, procedures, and minimum standards
Experience & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of the travel industry, travel practices, supplier relations, and similar. Excellent personal network within the industry.
Strong financial acumen, ability to understand and clearly explain fiscal performance.
Strong knowledge and experience with travel technology and distribution systems & capabilities is an asset
Prior experience within the B2C and/or bed bank travel sector is an asset
Senior Level Management Experience, at or at least equivalent to Vice President or Senior Vice President is preferred
