Communicate accurate and insightful analysis and commentary on financial/PnL results and variances, relative to forecast and prior periods, in a clear and concise way.
Create and maintain moderately complex financial models to drive quantitative insights and support business decisions.
Support the development and implementation of KPIs, visualized data dashboards, and standardized data models (in co-operation with our BI teams).
Identify risks, opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement within the business, through analysis and deep business understanding, which can be incorporated into future forecasts, process improvements, or strategic initiatives.
Leverage and manipulate large amounts of data in Excel or PowerBI to create ad hoc data models to facilitate modelling and reporting.
Enjoy variety in your day and learning new things as most of the work is project based/ad hoc with some recurring reporting duties.
What you’ll bring:
3-5 years of experience working in a FP&A role (analysis, modelling, forecasting, advising the business).
Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
CPA or CFA designation is an asset (not mandatory).
Strong business acumen and advanced analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to synthesize financial data into relevant analysis and understand the audience.
Proven ability to learn the business, processes, and software systems relatively quickly and reasonably deeply.
Resourceful self-starter with a positive attitude, possessing the ability to periodically work under minimal supervision in a relatively fast-paced work environment with shifting priorities.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to manage concurrent projects, address roadblocks, and prioritize effectively to meet timelines for multiple stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ease in communicating with various levels in the organization, including senior management.
Ability to proactively identify process improvement opportunities and implement them.
Strong financial modelling and analysis skills with the ability to understand the business, see the bigger picture, and pull together disparate concepts to provide insight.
Proven ability to deliver on commitments with high quality results in a timely, accurate manner with high attention to detail.
Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, macros/VBA, pivot tables), with the ability to follow through relatively complex formulas to raw data within a model.
Data visualization experience with PowerBI and light to moderate data modelling via PowerQuery (merging multiple datasets, transforming data) is considered an asset.
Ability to tactfully challenge the status quo while developing and maintaining friendly and cooperative working relationships.
