Eurostar, the European high-speed rail service, welcomes the start of a busy Christmas period as the first Eurostar Snow service leaves London on Saturday 16 December, for the French Alps. The eco-escape to the slopes proved popular for sustainably savvy travellers with over half of tickets being sold within the first week, and over 4,000 travellers using the service via Lille, this winter.
Across Eurostar’s London routes, over 600,000 passengers are expected to travel between 15 December 2023 and 7 January 2024, with up to 35,000 passengers on the busiest days such as, Boxing Day and 29 December, just ahead of New Year.
Eurostar’s Chief Commercial Officer, Francois Le Doze:“Our station teams look forward to welcoming travellers as they set off for the Alps and the festive season. We’re proud to see the first Eurostar Snow service leave St Pancras and to offer a sustainable travel option to the slopes via Lille. Travellers departing from London St Pancras this winter may also be treated to a sneak-peak of Santa as his visits the station during the Christmas holidays.”
Passengers leaving London and wanting to get further into the Christmas spirit can enjoy an array of carol singers throughout the month and even make a visit to the big man himself at the St Pancras Grotto.
