Europe’s biggest vegan festival takes place from 16-18 June 2023
Thousands of people are expected to flock to Berlin to get a taste of plant-based living. The biggest festival in Europe celebrating plant-based living takes place in Berlin, Germany from 16-18 June 2023 and more than 60,000 visitors are expected to attend. Entry is free! Plant-based foods emit half the amount of greenhouse gases as animal-based foods, meaning that switching to a plant-based diets is one of the most effective actions an individual can take to tackle climate change.
Food awareness organisation, ProVeg International, will be supporting the festival, which takes place from 16-18 June 2023, along with the Albert Schweitzer Foundation and the group Berlin Vegan. “We are delighted that after three years of Covid, we can finally have a live celebration of the plant-based lifestyle again,” Matthias Rohra, Executive Director of ProVeg International, said.
Nearly 80 restaurants, traders and organisation will be holding stalls under Berlin’s television tower in the city’s AlexanderPlatz. For three days, there will be celebrating and feasting – with a diverse stage programme, music, food stalls, product and information stands and non-vegetarians are expressly welcome.
Above all, visitors are invited to see how delicious vegan food can taste and to discover what the market offers today.Since its beginning in 2008, the Summer Festival has grown year on year, and the 13th festival this year is set to be even bigger, louder and more diverse.
