Etihad has passed its tenth consecutive IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) with zero findings and zero observations – a flawless result maintained since the airline’s inaugural certification in 2006, strengthening Etihad’s compliance track record as the best in the industry.
These achievements demonstrate Etihad’s dedication to maintaining the highest operational safety and airworthiness standards to deliver the safest and most reliable travel experience for its guests.

Earlier this year, the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) recognised Etihad’s Safety Management System (SMS) effectiveness with one of the highest scores ever achieved in the UAE, recognising the strength of its safety culture and the use of industry-leading technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to further enhance the safety of its operations.
The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is an internationally recognised programme designed to assess the management and control system of an airline. To maintain their membership status, all IATA airlines must be registered in the IOSA programme.
An IATA-accredited audit team assessed Etihad’s management systems across all operational areas for five days, ensuring compliance with the highest operational excellence criteria. The audit includes a thorough examination of the efficacy of Etihad’s safety measures and an assessment of 922 specific operational and airworthiness requirements.
