As part of expanding its flights to Australia, Emirates will resume operating its flagship A380 between Dubai and Perth on 1 December. Due to the upgrade, Emirates can provide nearly 500 seats on each flight between its hub in Dubai and Perth.
Flight EK420 will leave Dubai at 02:45 and arrive in Perth at 17:20 on the same day; flight EK421 will depart Perth at 22:20 and land in Dubai at 05:25. The daily A380 service between Dubai and Perth will replace the current daily Boeing 777- 300ER operation.
The expansion coincides with Emirates’s 20th anniversary of serving the communities of Perth, by providing unrivalled connectivity to Dubai and throughout its worldwide network.
Emirates has carried nearly 6 million passengers between Perth and its Dubai hub on more than 220 million kilometres on more than 24,000 flights since its first flight to Perth in August 2002.
Strong demand for travel, the airline’s seamless connections, and its award-winning product and services led to the expansion of its Perth operations from a four-times-weekly service. This began operating daily in May 2003, and in February 2006, Emirates opened its first lounge in Perth.
In March 2008, in response to customer demand, Emirates launched its distinctive First Class Suites, which it has now expanded to include several other services. In May of 2015, the airline made its first landing with its flagship A380, demonstrating its unwavering dedication to the market and to providing its passengers with first-rate service and a first-class experience in every cabin.
Over the same period in Western Australia, Emirates consistently supported the state’s arts, cultural, and sporting organisations.
Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s cargo division, has also made substantial contributions to the regional economy by transporting goods like fresh meat, fruit, and vegetables, as well as mining equipment, to destinations worldwide.
Since the introduction of Emirates’ Premium Economy on one of its daily Sydney flights on 1 August, the airline has experienced a considerable rise in passenger bookings to and from Australia, with significant demand across all of its cabins.
Eight of the top 10 places Australians are booking flights to on Emirates are in Europe, where summer tourism is booming. The United Kingdom is number one, followed by Italy, France, Greece, and Ireland. After Italy, the following five most popular travel destinations are Spain, Lebanon, Germany, the Netherlands, and Turkey.
