New data has revealed that the Eiffel Tower is the most ‘Instagrammable’ filming location in the Netflix series Emily in Paris, with over 12 million Instagram posts featuring the landmark.
Social online casino PlayFame analysed over 23 million Instagram posts featuring location-specific hashtags for 83 Emily in Paris filming locations. These were then ranked to determine which locations are the most popular on Instagram.
The Eiffel Tower has been crowned the most picturesque filming location from Emily in Paris, with 12,992,611 posts. It wouldn’t be right if a series with Paris in the title didn’t feature a ton of scenes with the city’s most iconic landmark. From Emily snapping her first selfie in the first episode to the fancy client dinner at the Eiffel Tower’s Michelin-starred restaurant in season three, the Eiffel Tower is a significant presence throughout the series. Adult tickets for the Eiffel Tower start from approximately $15.55.
Taking second place is Notre-Dame, with 4,416,444 posts. While filming season three, the famous cathedral was covered in scaffolding for renovation after the shocking fire in 2019, but there are no signs of scaffolding or fire damage in shots of the cathedral in season three. Notre-Dame reopens its doors to visitors on December 7th and 8th this year.
Securing third place is Arc de Triomphe, with 1,428,527 posts. Throughout the series, romantic encounters and soirees often happen in front of iconic Parisian landmarks, like the Arc de Triomphe, providing the perfect romantic backdrops in the City of Love. It costs $17.64 to visit the Arc but, entry is free for under 18s.
Fourth in the ranking is Sacré-Cœur, with 1,274,302 posts. The Sacré-Cœur Basilica opened its doors in 1875, making it one of the younger historical monuments in Paris. It features twice in season four and once in season one when Emily spends a day exploring the sights of Montmartre with Mindy. Entry to the Basilica is free.
In fifth place is Musée d’Orsay, with 508,252 posts. One of Paris’ most treasured museums was formerly a train station, but today it is home to a collection of classic French works such as Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’. This is the spot where Gabriel and Camille come together for a date, reliving the moment when they first met in the hit Netflix series. Adult tickets are priced at $17.64.
