Dusit International has unveiled plans to launch its first ever hotel in Nepal.
The Thai hotel group has signed a management agreement for the Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort & Spa, a new luxury property located in the mountains of central Nepal, just over an hour’s drive from Kathmandu and Tribhuvan International Airport.
The resort will feature 44 rooms and 20 villas, all with views of the Himalayas, plus a spa, swimming pool, restaurant, bar and meeting space.
“Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort & Spa brings wellness and wellbeing to the fore in a magnificent setting,” said Ms Suphajee Suthumpun, Dusit’s group CEO. “We will do all we can to ensure our destination resort has a positive impact on the local environment and community, and we look forward to making it a huge success.”
The announcement of Dusit’s first hotel in Nepal comes shortly after the company revealed plans to make its debut in Vietnam. At present, the hotel group operates 29 properties in eight countries, but this is expected to more than double to 70 hotels within the next three to four years.
