Dusit Thani Bangkok reopens on 27 September
Iconic hotel returns with its key comforts reimagined for 21st century guests
Dusit International’s flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok officially reopens to guests on 27 September, marking a new chapter for the company with its reimagined amenities for the 21st century.
Rebuilt from the ground up on its original site in the heart of the Dusit Central Park mixed-use development, the revitalised Dusit Thani Bangkok weaves together the traditions of its storied 50 years with innovations that set the pace for contemporary luxury.
Honour the past as you look to the future
Dusit International Group CEO Suphajee Suthumpun pointed out the need to honour the hotel’s past as one of Bangkok’s most iconic landmarks, but also to bring key aspects like culture, art, and impeccable service up to date.
Suthumpun said: “As we embarked on its reimagination, we were committed to honouring that legacy while exceeding the expectations of today’s sophisticated guests. This meant meticulously preserving elements of the original hotel and seamlessly blending them with a fresh, modern design.”
Throughout the redevelopment, the Dusit team worked to stay true to the vision of founder Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui, and owner Chanin Donavanik of showcasing the best aspects of Thai culture, art, and gracious service while meeting the evolving needs of global travellers.
An enlightened aesthetic and more
The reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok goes beyond design to celebrate its heritage. The original hotel’s iconic golden spire, a beloved landmark, has returned and is now contained within a new, three-times-larger spire.
Developed by architects from 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong Limited, a division of the esteemed Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), the Dusit Thani Bangkok’s architecture pays homage to the unique style of its predecessor.
The hotel’s elegant interiors, exquisitely crafted by internationally acclaimed Asian interior design firm, André Fu Studio, seamlessly blend the original hotel’s rich heritage with contemporary Thai aesthetics, incorporating warm colour tones and subtle traditional motifs for a modern interpretation of classic Thai artistry and craftsmanship.
In honour of the hotel’s history, a signature Heritage Floor designed by Thai interior design firm P49 Deesign & Associates Co. Ltd captures the spirit of the original property. This floor is adorned with exclusive artworks by local artists, each inspired by the hotel’s legacy.
