DTH Travel launched its first-ever suite of destination selling guides for travel agents.
These training guides include specialised local tips for each destination, as well as guidance for planning and booking trips to the 12 destinations within the company’s portfolio.
DTH Travel group marketing director Meggie Valdes said: “Asia is a complex region; each destination has its own unique culture, practices, etiquette and landscapes to navigate. Selling one destination requires expert knowledge alone, and with the increase in consumer demand for multi-centre itineraries, slow travel and longer more immersive trips, and constant developments within each destination, it’s never been more important to ensure agents are armed with practical and easily digestible information to maintain their level of expertise and understanding.”
The current lineup is made up of guides for Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Making things easy for agents
The brand new, ‘made easy’ compact selling guides include an ‘at a glance’ introduction to give a flavour to each country or city.
The ‘important basics’ cover really useful information from cultural etiquette and visas to seasonality, sustainability and route planning, as well as insider tips on classic and new places to go, and what to do.
These new guides also provide a comprehensive yet concise resource for agents to use on-the-go, and are the result of DTH Travel’s close collaboration with travel agencies and their deep knowledge of the destinations they sell.
How to travel smart
The guides also focus heavily on cultural tips and how to ‘travel smart’ including top FAQs and insider tips from DTH’s expert team, sharing their local knowledge to help agents get to know the ‘real’ city or country.
This is an excellent personal touch that gives agents a special advantage on what to recommend to their clients for unique and genuine experiences.
According to DTH Travel chief executive Stephan Roemer: “Our DTH teams across Asia are constantly travelling, learning, and developing new tour ideas and experiences. Our passion for exploration and connection to local communities makes us stand out as true travel experts, and we’re proud to share this through our guides.
DTH Travel has already reported a bumper year in sales, reaching their total 2023 sales figure as early as September this year.
Roemer added that the sales guides demonstrate the level of service DTH Travel offers its customers.
He said: “We are committed to supporting our trade partners, and can also provide a range of individualised consulting and training solutions to cater to particular needs.”
These guides are now available for download via the DTH Travel website.
