Travel Counsellors has launched a series of roadshows ‘with a difference’ as a result of an influx in travel professionals joining the company this year.
The independent travel company, which now has 1,600 Travel Counsellors running their own businesses in seven countries, has experienced a 67% increase in new starters over the past six months compared to the previous year.
To support this, it has launched its biggest ever series of roadshows – named ‘Taste our World’, the events will give people a real flavour of what life is like as a Travel Counsellor.
Held at eight venues across the UK, attendees can enjoy regionally inspired dishes and drinks at each event, from afternoon tea in Exeter to gin tasting in Edinburgh, as well as meeting with a host of representatives and Travel Counsellors from the company.
Travel Counsellors UK MD Kirsten Hughes said; “2017 has been our strongest ever year for travel professionals joining the business, and we are finding people really appreciate talking face to face about their career path and finding out more first-hand from our Travel Counsellors themselves. People were literally hungry for information so we thought what better way than to combine our biggest ever roadshow event with food to really give people a taste of our world! We’ve even introduced new locations where we haven’t previously held events in order to make it more accessible for people to attend. We want people on the industry to know about the opportunities available to them, and hear about the experiences and success of those that have recently joined the company too.”
The roadshows have been launched as part of the company’s recent ‘Your World Better’ campaign, which showcases the experiences of Travel Counsellors who have made their world better through reaping the benefits of the support, tools and in-house technology provided by the company, giving them more time, more money, a better lifestyle and a more personalised and tailor-made service for their customers.
Following the launch of the campaign in April, the company has reported a 50% increase in the number of enquiries compared to the previous month, and a 62% in enquiries between 1 Jan – 30 April 2017, compared to the same period last year.
Kent based Travel Counsellor Tony Walker-Banfield joined Travel Counsellors two years ago, and has been a regular attendee at the events for the business. He said; “I really feel attending a roadshow is vital in making the first step to understanding our business. I attend the events to give advice to anyone who wants insight into how we work and how being a Travel Counsellor could work for them. It was an important decision for me and one that has granted me the freedom to be able to work hours that suit me and my business, as well as financial independence whilst being part of a great support network, so I am always keen to share my experience with others!”
The roadshows will be held in London, Exeter, Bristol, Birmingham, Lincoln, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow throughout June.
