Cunard has teamed up with renowned fashion stylist and sustainability expert Bay Garnett and pre-loved styling firm Circle of Style to produce the ‘Cunard Capsule Cruise Collection’ to celebrate 100 years since cruise collections first became a part of the coveted fashion scene. A new capsule collection inspired by the rich tradition of cruise couture fashion that flourished during the 1900s.
To celebrate the launch of the new capsule collection, Cunard and Circle of Style offer style aficionados an exclusive opportunity to join in a bespoke styling service, allowing them to create their own one-of-a-kind pre-loved cruise wardrobe ahead of their voyage. The first 100 Cunard guests will have access to Circle of Style experts, who will artfully assemble a carefully curated wardrobe for each guest to suit their style and voyage destination, pulling inspiration from the Cunard Capsule Cruise Collection looks.
“Fashion boasts a vibrant tapestry, and I frequently draw inspiration from high-fashion moments spanning several decades to reimagine contemporary looks,” pre-loved fashion royalty Bay Garnett said. Delving into Cunard’s photo archive for inspiration for the new Capsule Cruise Collection was an incredible journey. The process of curating ten stylish and contemporary ensembles, each inspired by legendary fashion events from its corresponding decade, has been nothing short of extraordinary.”
The exclusive Cunard Capsule Cruise collection is inspired by Cunard’s extensive archive photos, featuring ten styles spanning ten decades of cruising, each inspired by the fashion trends of the period. From the prim and proper 1900s to the vivid colour of the 1970s and the contemporary cool of the 1990s, each piece in the collection celebrates the style of its decade with a modern twist suitable for today’s style enthusiasts.
Cunard’s tradition has always included fashion, from being the first cruise line to offer a transatlantic fashion week trip to hosting superstars such as Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, and Rita Hayworth. Glamour and fashion have long been associated with sailing, and the capsule collection aims to enable future guests to capture this spirit, whatever their style.
Guests can expect to see a range of pre-loved pieces from famous designers such as Chanel, Burberry, A.P.C Alexander McQueen, and many more within Circle of Style’s archives, all of which will be available for purchase.
Cunard President Katie McAlister said, “We’re incredibly excited to see this partnership come to life and offer customers the opportunity to celebrate 100 years of cruise couture with us.” Fashion has always been and continues to be an essential part of cruising heritage, and hence this collection honours history in a relevant yet current approach in true Cunard style.”
