The countdown before the christening of MSC Meraviglia, their next generation, newest flagship to join the MSC Cruises fleet has begun, with less than 100 days till launch.
MSC Meraviglia is one of four MSC ships currently under construction and the first of 11 new age mega ships set to come into service over the next ten years.
Speaking exclusively to Cruise News, Antonio Paradiso, MD for MSC Cruises UK and Ireland, said: “MSC Meraviglia marks an important milestone for our company as the first of 11 next-generation mega-ships that will come into service over the next 10 years.
“This not only marks a new phase of growth for the Company globally, but also for the UK & Ireland.
“MSC Cruises is the market leader in Europe, so it is only natural that MSC Meraviglia will sail her inaugural season in the Mediterranean allowing our UK & Irish guests to discover some of the jewels of this beautiful region whilst on board a ship packed with features including world-class entertainment, an extensive family offering and international dining options.
“We have already seen strong interest from UK guests for the Mediterranean – MSC Meraviglia is currently our most booked ship in the Med, representing 22% of our volumes for 2017, further strengthening the market leader position that our Company has in this region.”
MSC Meraviglia has been designed to meet the needs of today’s cruisers and is set to become an amazing destination in itself as she cruises the West Mediterranean from the 11 June 2017.
