‘Connect’ with VisitScotland
Scottish tourism operators have the opportunity to meet and do business with tour operators, travel agents and destination management companies in-person, at a brand-new event next Spring. VisitScotland Connect is a new business-to-business travel trade workshop to be held on 19 and 20 April 2023 at the P&J Live Aberdeen. The event is open to trade-ready Scottish tourism businesses in a workshop-style event, which is used successfully across global travel trade to connect buyers and suppliers.
There will also be a programme of familiarisation trips showcasing businesses, including those with examples of best practice in sustainability. VisitScotland Connect will build on the success of Scotland Reconnect, which was held virtually in 2020 and 2021, and Discover Scotland, a virtual event followed by live showcases.
Engaging with the travel trade is even more important amid continued global uncertainty. The National Tourism Organisation’s insights suggest more visitors are seeking the reassurance and guidance provided by intermediaries, like tour operators, travel agents and destination management companies, when planning a break.
Malcolm Roughead, VisitScotland chief executive said: “We are focused on rebuilding international tourism demand and supporting Scotland’s ambitions to be a leading destination for responsible tourism. We have worked with and listened to tourism businesses and stakeholders to design our 2023 travel trade event, ensuring it best meets the needs of the industry.
VisitScotland Connect will give Scottish businesses a platform to connect with key buyers from around the globe to help attract visitors and rebuild our valuable tourism industry.”
