To commemorate World Food Day, COMO Hotels and Resorts have partnered with Mastercard to launch the Purchase with Purpose program to bring awareness to the importance of children’s nutrition.
“World Food Day is an important day for us. At COMO Hotels and Resorts, we believe that serving our guests well includes providing an assurance of responsible dining. This partnership with Mastercard will allow us to serve at least 35,000 meals to underprivileged children living in the vicinity of our hotels,” said Hans Jörg Meier, chief operating officer for COMO Hotels and Resorts.
Southeast Asian beneficiaries include:
Panyanukul School: Providing educational and skill-training opportunities to 280 disabled children from Phuket and the surrounding provinces. Supported by COMO Point Yamu, Phuket.
Baan Kho NaKa School: A primary school on Naka Yai Island, Thailand serving 30 students, supported by COMO Beach Club in Phuket.
Santisuk Foundation: Catering to the needs of 1,100 special needs children living in disadvantaged communities in Bangkok. Supported by COMO Metropolitan Bangkok.
Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan Bali: Providing rehabilitation and education for Balinese children who have physical disabilities, and who are unable to access formal health care facilities. Supported by COMO Uma Ubud, COMO Shambhala Estate and COMO Echo Beach (opening December 2017) in Bali.
Guests and diners can join this effort to raise awareness about World Food Day and COMO Hotels and Resorts’ food initiatives by tagging images of their meals with #WorldFoodDay2017 and #COMOCares on Instagram and Facebook
