Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) is partnering with Whittard of Chelsea to coincide with the launch of their new flagship Columbus. Whittard is a leading provider of fine beverages from around the world, offering more than 100 blends of tea.
In an exclusive arrangement, Whittard will supply their unique range of tea and chocolate drinks on board Columbus, Magellan and Marco Polo. Whittard gift products will also be featured in the onboard shopping areas.
Announcing the exclusive arrangement Bob McGowan, head of customer Service at CMV, said “We are delighted to be working with such a recognisably famous tea and beverage company.
“Our passengers always appreciate a blend of quality and tradition and we believe that they will appreciate and enjoy the quality of Whittard beverages. There will be also be the opportunity to buy Whittard gift products on board.”
Walter Whittard opened his first shop in Fleet Street, London in 1886 at the tender age of 25. The shop was stocked from floor to ceiling with tea, coffee and cocoa.
Gradually his blending techniques, to many satisfied clients, soon caught on and the Whittard business grew through the city business of trading in tea and beverages.
Mark Dunhill managing director at Whittard said “This is an exciting initiative to be working with CMV who offer a traditional British cruise experience. Our original and imaginative products are perfectly suited for further benefiting their passengers’ on board experience.”
The CMV and Whittard partnership will start from 8th June, when the launch of Columbus offers the ideal opportunity to introduce the products. Magellan and Marco Polo will also benefit from the new range of tea and chocolate drinks.
